Overview Bruce Mahan University of Mississippi is a public university based in the city of Oxford, Mississippi, and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Founded as a land grant institution under the Morrill Act of 1862, it was initially known as "The Agricultural and Mechanical College of the State of Mississippi".
